The Alarm frontman's wife in isolation ward

THE wife of Mike Peters – frontman with rock band The Alarm – twice cheated death when she was struck down by a massive blood clot and a mystery African virus.

Jules Peters, 42, was yesterday recovering in a special isolation unit on Ward X at Liverpool’s Tropical Disease centre after the couple returned from a charity cancer climb up Mount Kilimanjaro.

It follows three weeks of frantic medical investigations into a mystery illness and a blood clot that left her fearing she could have her leg amputated after it swelled to twice its normal size.

For the last two weeks Mrs Peters has been stuck in an isolation ward, unable to see her children, Dylan, five, and Evan, two.

The Alarm have also postponed gigs.

Mike Peters, 50, said: “It has been a nightmare. You can deal with it when you have the knowledge but when you and the doctors don’t know what is going on, it is very scary. We feared the worst.”
