Cllr Peter Millea, executive member for development, said the scheme demonstrated the council’s commitment to improving both the environment and facilities for businesses in the area.
He added: “We are continuing with our extensive consultation, which is already receiving some very positive feedback.”
The creative quarter plan would see four buildings off Jamaica Street leased and redeveloped with NWDA and ERDF cash so they can house creative and digital companies.
Anna-Sophie Mertens, from the Contemporary Urban Centre, said: “I would like to show my support for the initiative.
“The road and pedestrian walkways are poorly paved and need reinstating to make it an attractive area for pedestrians and drivers.
“If these proposals are put into place, the events and conferencing opportunities at the Contemporary Urban Centre will be greater than ever.”
A public consultation event will take place on Thursday November 12 at the Contemporary Urban Centre, in Greenland Street, between 8.30am to 7pm.
Representatives from the council, Merseyside police and staff from 2020 Liverpool will be available throughout to explain proposals and answer any questions about the scheme.
