Body of Birkenhead soldier killed in Afghanistan returns to the UK with five others

THE BODIES of six soldiers killed in Afghanistan, including a Birkenhead man, have returned to the UK today.
Steven Boote, 22, was one of the soldiers shot by a ‘rogue’ Afghan Police officer in Nad-e-Ali in Helmand Province on November 3.
Cpl Boote was a soldier in the TA who had volunteered to deploy to Afghanistan.
He had worked as a security team leader at Tesco and was hoping to join the Police on his return.
A private repatriation ceremony is to take place for the victims’ families and will be followed by a precession of hearses carrying the coffins will drive through the High Street of Wootton Bassett near Wiltshire.
