Cash for Liverpool artist Philip Jeck

A LIVERPOOL composer who plays 180 record decks simultaneously is among a group of artists to receive £45,000 grants from the Paul Hamlyn Founda-tion Awards for Artists.

Philip Jeck was rewarded for the “original voice” he creates in salvaging old records and record players from junk shops and playing them together. His Vinyl Requiem features 180 record players, 12 slide projectors and two film projectors.
