Jury clears man accused of killing father outside Kirkby snooker hall

A MAN was cleared of the manslaughter of a father outside a snooker hall.

A jury took less than four hours to clear Joseph Siner, 29, of Shacklady Road, Kirkby, of manslaughter.

It was said he killed David Jones, 47, with a single punch outside the club, in Kirkby, last October.

But Liverpool Crown Court heard he acted in lawful self defence against the older man.

Mr Jones ruptured his vertebral artery and his life support machine was switched off the following day.
