Another employee, project manager Sue Cull, said: “I have just popped into work for something, found out about it and it is fantastic.

“I do not actually know them, though I believe they work for Hewlett Packard. We have lots of Hewlett Packard staff.

“If I had have won that sort of money, I do not think I would be back to work.”

One of the nearest Lotto outlets to the office is Guardian News, in Bold Street.

Manager Mohammed Ali, 18, said many syndicates play the Lottery in his shop and the group could have bought the winning ticket from there.

He added: “We have only had the terminal in here for three months – we got it when Tesco opened up the road.

“Since then, we have had maybe 200 more people in the shop every day – and this will bring more people into the shop.

“It is good businesses do stuff like that.”

The other winning ticket belongs to a married couple from Newport, in South Wales. Their massive wealth now means they are as rich as Jamie Oliver and Kate Moss, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

Racing drivers David Coulthard and Jenson Button, and former Liverpool FC footballer Michael Owen are also each worth between £40m and £45m, the list said.
