A TEENAGE cancer sufferer is recording her experience by creating a video diary on the internet.
Olivia Battye, 18, of Thornton Hough, Wirral, said the filming is proving therapeutic.
She hopes it will help other young people with the illness.
The Birkenhead high school sixth former was diagnosed with bone cancer in January after suffering from back pain.
Since February, she has been through all her 14 doses of chemotherapy at Clatterbridge centre for oncology and is awaiting the results of scans.
Olivia said: “I decided to record the diary because I thought it could help other people watching it.
“It has also given me something to focus on and it has helped me keep going.
“I talk about how the cancer affects different aspects of my life, which you may not think about.
“It is not just the treatment.
“It is very hard to see all your friends moving on, doing the things you thought you would be doing.
“I cannot really go out when my friends do.
“They are all making plans to go off to university, which I should have been doing.
“I have had to go back a year in school because I was too ill to study.
