MERSEYSIDE Pension Fund has been shortlisted for a national “Fund of the Year” award,
The news comes after the fund overcame extremely difficult market conditions to meet all of its 2008 benchmarks.
Since March 2009, the value of Merseyside Pension Fund has increased by more than £600m.
When considering the entries, the judges also took into account communications with scheme members and employing authorities, along with innovations to improve customer service.
Chair of the Fund’s Pensions Committee, Cllr Ann McLachlan, said: “I hope that this news is evidence that the fund’s managers take their job seriously and are very competent.”
The Local Government Chronicle Finance Awards are on November 25.
