Explosion outside John Ball's home in Birkdale 300
THE home of Merseyside businessman John Ball was targeted again tonight in a suspected bomb attack.
Merseyside Police are yet to establish whether an improvised explosive device was thrown at the house or if a small calibre machine gun was fired at the property on Selworthy Road in Birkdale.
It is understood that several windows and the ground floor of the house were damaged in the incident which took place at 6.10pm.
Police quickly arrived on the scene and cordoned off the section of road surrounding Mr Ball’s home, which is only yards from the Royal Birkdale golf course.
