Arrest in 12-year long 'nightstalk' rape case

DETECTIVES hunting the “nightstalker” – one of Britain’s most wanted serial rapists – have arrested a 52-year-old man.

The Metropolitan Police launched Operation Minstead to investigate more than 100 attacks on the elderly in the south London area dating back to the 1990s.

Earlier this month, the Metropolitan Police revealed detectives have obtained more than 2,000 DNA samples from suspects as part of the 12-year inquiry, at a cost of £102,700.
