LIVERPOOL hairdresser Herbert Howe brought the magic of the festive season to the city early this year.
He invited friends and celebrities, including theatre star Claire Sweeney and actor Ricky Tomlinson, to a fundraiser at Liverpool’s Adelphi Hotel.
The event was held to raise cash for Herbert’s Queenie’s Christmas charity, which he set up in memory of his late mother four years ago.
Proceeds will go towards this year’s Lord Mayor’s children’s Christmas party for under-privileged youngsters and provide dinner for people who would normally be alone on Christmas Day.
Guests at the Queenie’s Christmas Gala Ball on Saturday were greeted by Santa and his helpers before tucking into a Christmas dinner.
They were then treated to entertainment The Real Thing, stand-up comedian Crissy Rock and singer Joe Longthorne.
