A MAN died in a helicopter crash over Cheshire farmland yesterday, police have confirmed.
Nearby residents reported the incident near Adlington, east Cheshire, shortly after 3.30pm.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Police, fire and ambulance officers attended the scene and discovered a crashed helicopter.
“Medical assistance was provided to a man believed to be the pilot, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The pilot’s next of kin has been informed.
However, police said the victim’s identity will not yet be released as further family members needed to be contacted.
The circumstances leading to the crash are not yet known, and the Air Accident Investigation has been launched.
