Police name Wirral man killed in three-vehicle crash in Chester

POLICE have named a Merseyside man killed in a three-vehicle crash outside Chester.

Firefighters had to cut the injured from a black Land Rover, a black Citroen C Crosser and a Ford Transit van following the incident on Wrexham Road at 2.40pm last Thursday.

The driver of the Citroen, 41-year-old James Pope, from Wallasey, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger of the Land Rover, a 45-year-old woman from Chester, was treated at the Countess of Chester Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the Ford Transit, a 20- year-old man from the Chester area, was treated for injuries to his chest and abdomen.

No arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
