A HUB of cancer research excellence had its official opening in Liverpool.
The Liverpool Cancer Research Centre, on London Road, was visited by dignitaries including Sir Howard Newby, Vice Chancellor of the University of Liverpool and the Lord Mayor Mike Storey yesterday for the ceremony.
The centre was granted funding in February, and the last of its researchers moved into the building in June.
Scientists at the centre are working with clinicians at the region’s hospitals to improve cancer care.
