Big wheel turns for Christmas celebration
A second Ferris wheel – the 60m-high Wheel of Liverpool – is also set to be erected next to the Echo Arena next year.
Its first sightseers could be taking rides on the wheel by Valentine’s Day.
FESTIVE celebrations will get under way from around 4pm today, with Christmas characters and music from Merseyside choirs and bands.
Santa will also open the doors to his Ice Palace on Paradise Street, and welcome in youngsters to tell him their Christmas wishes from 5pm.
Shops at Liverpool One will be open until 8pm and Debenhams will stay open until midnight.
