CELEBRITY chef Marco Pierre White sparked anger after one of his new restaurants cancelled bookings.
Marco is putting his name to three restaurants around the region, including the Swan Inn at Aughton.
But, because he and his team have ordered a re-fit, parties over Christmas are being scrapped or moved.
Among them was a surprise 50th birthday party organised since April by Ormskirk mother-of-two Ali Dower.
Mrs Dower, 48, said: “I was just in shock to begin with.
“I didn’t believe it until I read it in the paper that Marco’s coming.”
Mrs Dower was holding the party for her fiancé Steve Shuttleworth.
She put down a hefty £250 deposit to secure the booking and was looking forward to the party, which was due to go ahead next Saturday.
Mrs Dower said: “I paid for the function room in May and reserved all 13 bedrooms.
“Then the assistant manager Steve rang up and said they had to cancel all their functions.”
Mrs Dower was told to get in touch with Briars Hall hotel in Lathom.
They luckily had space and have managed to fit the party in at short notice.
