COMEDIAN Johnny Vegas is known for his monkey sidekick – but he also has a soft spot for penguins.
The Benidorm star returned to his home town of St Helens to launch its collection of eight Go Penguins yesterday, including one based on him by artist Tony Bishop.
Vegas said: “Go Penguins is a great initiative to encourage environmental awareness and I hope lots of people will come to visit the penguins here.”
The Johnny Vegas penguin can be found at the corner of Ormskirk Street and Westfield Street.
Cllr Richard Ferry, executive member for regeneration, said: “It was great Johnny was able to support this fantastic project.”
