A PENSIONER was seriously injured last night after being hit by a car while crossing the road.
One passenger in the car, a 21-year-old male, had to be pulled out of the car by a specialist fire and rescue team.
He and one other 21-year-old were both taken to hospital with spinal injuries.
A further two passengers in the car absconded at the scene, with one later found by police in a nearby garden.
The pedestrian, a 70-year-old man, suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Fazakerley Hospital.
The incident happened at around 6.50pm last night, closing a section of Queens Drive, at the Muirhead Avenue end, in West Derby, for several hours.
The car, thought to be a white Subaru Impreza, had rolled over in the collision and landed on its roof on a grassy verge.
