Wirral store owner battles with armed raiders who stole jewels worth £140k

A JEWELLERY store owner battled with armed raiders as they stole diamond rings worth up to £140k.

The attack happened at 5pm yesterday at Hallmark Jewellers on Pensby Road, Heswall.

The three men drilled a whole into the glass and then smashed it with a sledgehammer.

Owner Jan Foley then tried to pull back her stock as they put their hands through to steal the jewellery. Ms Foley said: “We have been attacked before and each time we have managed to catch the raiders, but these were incensed.

“They weren’t going anywhere until they had what they wanted.

“We have the whole incident on CCTV but they have their faces covered. I am devastated but pleased I saved some.”
