A MAN was seriously injured last night when he was hit by a taxi in Chester.
At 10.43pm a pedestrian crossing the A56 Hoole Road near to Vicarage Road, north of the city centre, was knocked down by a blue Vauxhall Vectra taxi being driven by a 37-year-old driver.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Countess of Chester Hospital where he is today in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the taxi, and his two passengers, were unhurt.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police are urging witnesses to come forward and speak to the investigating officer PC3385 Williams at Blacon Police Station on 0845 4580000.
