Four hurt in police car collision on Liverpool's Speke Boulevard

A POLICE car on a 999 call was involved in a collision with another car on Speke Boulevard, Liverpool.

The marked police car was responding to an emergency call when it collided with an Audi travelling out of the city.

It happened at around 5.25pm on Saturday night.

The driver of the police car and three people from the Audi were taken to Whiston Hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not described as serious.

The carriageway of Speke Boulevard heading out of the city was closed, as was part of the city-bound carriageway at the junction of Woodend Avenue so collision investigators could examine the scene.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “A full investigation is being carried out into the collision.

“Any witnesses are asked to call the Roads Policing Unit on 0151 777 5771.”
