THE Wire actor Dominic West is to direct an episode of Jimmy McGovern’s daytime drama, Moving On.
West, best known for his role as hard-drinking Baltimore cop Jimmy McNulty in the cult police series, will be working in Liverpool in January.
The shoot for the 45-minute episode is expected to take a week.
Sheffield-born West, who has previously directed an episode of The Wire, is also known for his role as Oliver Cromwell in last year’s TV series, The Devil’s Whore.
Producer Colin McKeown said: “We believe series two is going to push the quality bar further.”
