A DECISION on the future of two of Wirral’s iconic locations could be made next week.
Reports will be presented to Wirral’s ruling cabinet on the future of Birkenhead Town Hall and the Pacific Road theatre and the associated tram museum.
Both are part of Wirral Council’s Strategic Asset Review, in which the authority has been attempting to divest itself of buildings across the borough.
The town hall was most recently used for Wirral Museum, and retains the grand interior which acts as a reminder of grander, wealthier days.
A number of bidders have come forward to take over both buildings, since it was announced earlier this year that they were being marketed by the authority.
Many community centres are also part of the asset review, and a report on the future of Heswall Hall will be presented to the cabinet on Wednesday.
