John Paul Massey's uncle questioned on Liverpool dog attack tragedy

THE uncle of a four-year-old boy savaged to death by a pitbull has been questioned by police.

Christian Foulkes, 21, was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of manslaughter.

He was released on police bail last night pending further enquiries.

It was Mr Foulkes’s white pitbull, called Uno, that attacked little John Paul Massey on Sunday night.

Mr Foulkes, himself a father-of-one, was not at the house in Ash Grove, Wavertree, at the time of the tragedy.

He had recently left Liverpool to join the Army in Catterick and the dog had remained with his mother, Helen Foulkes, who was babysitting John Paul.

She suffered serious injuries as she tried to fight the dog off the youngster.

Mr Foulkes has been given compassionate leave from the Army.

The dog is one of four breeds banned in this country.
