LIVERPOOL’S International Tennis Tournament has announced its new official charity.
Money made during and in the run-up to next year’s tournament will be donated to the established Prince’s Trust charity.
Anders Borg, tournament director, said: “The Prince’s Trust is such a fantastic charity and we are so pleased that it is going to be the official charity of the tournament next year.
“It has a similar ethos in helping and developing young people, and we wanted to support the charity and raise as many funds as possible to ensure its excellent work can continue to benefit the young people of Merseyside and beyond.”
The Prince’s Trust strives to help young people by giving practical and financial support alongside training and skill building to enable young people to move into work, education or training.
Ian Smith, fundraising executive for The Prince’s Trust, added: “The event not only provides great entertainment, it also offers a unique experience to see great players up close and personal on the courts.
“The tournament has established itself as one of the highlights of the sporting calendar in the North-West, and we are so pleased to be affiliated with such a prestigious high-profile event.”
