Everton ‘will play a part’ in World Cup preparations Liverpool city council leader insists

LIVERPOOL’S council leader has insisted Everton FC will play a part in the city’s World Cup preparations in the wake of criticism from the Goodison Park club.

Cllr Warren Bradley yesterday responded to comments from Blues chief executive Robert Elstone following last Wednesday’s announcement Liverpool would be chosen as a host city if England’s bid is successful in 2018.

The failure of Everton’s proposed move to a new stadium in Kirkby means the Blues will not have the chance to host matches.
