WEIGHTMANS staff packed hampers with food and toiletries to hand out to the homeless at Christmas.
Throughout December, members of the firm’s Loss team rallied colleagues to donate goods for the 29 residents staying at the HomeGround shelter on Scotland Road, which offers support to homeless people in Liverpool aged 16 to 35.
It is the third year the firm has taken part in the drive.
Weightmans partner Nicky Smith, who co-ordinated the collection, said: “When we told the shelter about our plans to supply hampers again this year, they were delighted as no other businesses had pledged their support to the initiative.
“As a firm, we have a strong ethos of giving something back to our local communities and we stand by that despite difficult times. Everyone has been extremely supportive this year – reinforcing how the spirit of Christmas is indeed recession-proof.”
Clare Ferris, team leader at HomeGround said: “A heartfelt thanks goes to everyone at Weightmans.”
