Icy waters can’t stop madcap charity swimmers in Liverpool

WHILE the rest of Merseyside stared out at the Boxing Day cold from the comfort of their armchairs, swimmers across the city were taking a dip in icy waters for charity.

The 21st annual Boxing Day Dip into the Salthouse Dock at the Albert Dock saw swimmers brave the freezing temperatures by throwing themselves in off the high walls of the dock while the less experienced sensibly waded in from a side ramp.

Meanwhile, Santa hats and swimming gear were the order of the day at Crosby beach as scores of people ran into the waves to raise cash for the Kids With Cancer charity.
