SPORTS presenter Ray Stubbs was recovering at home last night after being taken ill during coverage of the live Barclays Premier League match between Liverpool and Wolves.
Wallasey-born Stubbs, who joined satellite channel ESPN earlier this year after more than two decades with the BBC, was not in his chair for the usual half-time match analysis. The former Calday Grange Grammar pupil, who played for Tranmere, was released yesterday
Stubbs’ overnight stay was believed to be precautionary and his absence from television screens is not expected to be a long one.
Pundit Mark Bright wrote on his social networking twitter site, @MarkBrighty: “People just spoke 2 Ray Stubbs, he thanked everyone 4 their concern, he’s feeling a lot better, he’s at home now & says C u all soon.”
