Weather continues to hit Liverpool's JLA as holiday travellers delayed

HUNDREDS of air passengers faced further misery as the fall-out from the bad weather continued.

Seven flights into Liverpool were diverted to other airports yesterday after 10 were scrapped on Monday, leaving travellers stranded as they tried to make the Bank Holiday journey home, following the Christmas break.

They were finally flown home yesterday.

But the disruption continued for Easyjet passengers flying between Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport and Belfast when their flight was cancelled.

The knock-on effect of Monday’s problems was blamed.

Elizabeth Huddlestone and her husband Sam, of Willaston, were among the passengers hit by the cancellations on Monday.

The couple checked in for their Easyjet flight from JLA to Jersey at 11.45am and were still waiting in the departures lounge at 4pm.

Elizabeth, 29, said: “There were no announcements made by Easyjet. About 100 people were waiting and no one knew what was going on.

“I rang the helpline and then they announced our plane had landed in Manchester.”

The budget airline sent three buses to take the passengers to Manchester airport, but there were no more flights to Jersey that day.
