Merseyside Police investigate after man is injured in street stabbing

A 27-YEAR-OLD man suffered facial injuries in a stabbing attack.

Police and paramedics were called to Critchley Way in Tower Hill, Kirkby, at around 12.30am yesterday.

They were responding to reports that a wounded man had been knocking on doors in the area asking for help.

Police said a resident eventually went out to help him before calling an ambulance.

The victim, who is from the Tower Hill area, was taken to hospital for treatment to a deep wound to his nose and another to the back of his neck.

The wounds were not life-threatening.

Police believe the injuries were caused by a knife or other bladed weapon, and are looking for up to three men in connection with the attack.

The incident is said to have taken place on or near an iron bridge in Headbolt Lane, in Tower Hill.
