Southport Lifeboat’s lotto launch

SOUTHPORT Lifeboat has launched a new lottery, with a cash prize of up to £5,000.

Money raised from the draw will help fund a new Lifeboat House.

The service covers Southport to Formby, but is not supported by the RNLI.

It costs more than £40,000 a year to keep the Lifeboat running. Since 2005, it has rescued 28 people and saved the lives of eight people.

It is currently based at the old Lifeboat house, off Marine Drive, which was built in 1886 and lacks basic facilities, and is not close enough to the shore.

Lottery forms are at the Southport Lifeboat shop in Birkdale. A downloadable form is available at southport-lifeboat.co.uk following the Lotto link and sent Freepost.
