Stage set as Liverpool unveils writers for inaugural one-act play festival

WRITERS and directors of the 10 works chosen for Liverpool’s inaugural Write Now festival met for the first time during a “producers day” in the city.

The one-act play festival will run at Liverpool Actors’ Studio between March 26 and April 3.

It includes eight plays and two readings at the Seel Street venue which is run by festival supporter, actress Pauline Daniels.

Editor of the Daily Post’s sister paper, the Liverpool Echo, Alastair Machray, and Radio Merseyside’s Roger Phillips are also patrons.

An event for interested cast and crew takes place at the Contemporary Urban Centre, Greenland Street, next Wednesday, from 5-9pm. Email info@writenow festival.co.uk

The stars of the future include Dave Young, Anita Franklin, Rob Johnston, Nick Brelsford, Jenny Yates, Helen East, Paul Williams, Annabel Dearing, Graham Chadwick and James Stewart.
