Liverpool music community to hold Haiti charity concert at The Cavern

LIVERPOOL’S music community has united to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Musicians from across the city and beyond have pledged their support by signing up for a fundraising concert at The Cavern on Friday, January 29, with all proceeds to go to the British Red Cross appeal fund.

So far, Mark Morris from The Bluetones, Nigel Clarke from Dodgy, Ian Prowse from Liverpool band Amsterdam, Alun Parry and Darren Poyzer have all announced they will play at the fundraiser.

Organiser Clair Chapman said: “We’ve been bowled over by people’s generosity.

“The line-up is coming together nicely. I am awaiting responses from others over the next few days.”

Tickets are available at £20 per head, from the event’s website www.love-haiti.org

Clair said: “It’s been a real rush to get the gig taking place as soon as possible, so the funds raised can be sent to those who need them most as quickly as possible.”
