FOOTBALLERS from eight top-flight clubs have signed up to a charity fundraising idea suggested by a six-year-old sticker fan.

Daniel Mulcahy, a pupil of The Mount Preparatory school in Blundellsands, Crosby, managed to persuade his football heroes to autograph Match Attax sticker albums he collected in aid of Claire House Hospice, Bebington, Wirral.

Premier League stars from Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn, Bolton, Stoke, West Brom, Hull and Sunderland all agreed to help out, so that the albums can be auctioned on Ebay.

Daniel spent nine months creating the albums by swapping stickers with friends.

He said: “My friends thought it was boss.”

With the help of father Steve, Daniel wrote to the clubs. Daniel wrote: “I have been collecting Match Attax football cards and I have got all the albums and now I want to give it to the sick children from Claire House so they can sell it and make lots of money so they can get more medicine and make them feel better.”

The albums will be sold off individually to the highest bidder in an online auction in February.
