A TEENAGE “monster” was jailed after an horrific sex attack on a nine-year-old girl while he was on bail for the sickening rape of a 10-year-old.

Liverpool Crown Court heard the 17-year-old had destroyed the life of the young victims from St Helens and Lancashire.

Although Judge David Harris, QC, said he was in “no doubt” the teen presented a serious risk to the public, he bizarrely decided to keep the defendant’s identity a secret until 5pm today.

He said he wanted to write to the prison holding the youth to warn them he was to be identified.

It has now emerged the defendant, from St Helens, was arrested and charged over the first attack, last April, but freed on bail to commit his second attack by a top judge.

Today he was back behind bars indefinitely and will only be released when experts agree it is safe.

Deborah Gould, prosecuting, told the court the defendant was a “predatory sex offender”.

On the evening of April 6, 2009, the teen followed his 10-year-old victim through Victoria Park, in St Helens, before dragging her into bushes.
