ARTIST and entertainer Rolf Harris had an emotional Australian Day when he picked up an honorary Hope University degree yesterday.
Rolf, 79, received a doctorate of letters in recognition of his contribution to art and music education.
And the choked Perth-born star wiped away a tear as he accepted the award.
He told a packed Hope Chapel: “I wish my mother and father could have been here to see this. They were always so supportive of me. They would have been immensely proud.”
Rolf pledged to return to the university later this year for his retrospective art exhibition.
