PLANS to rebuild Alder Hey were taken to the House of Lords yesterday.
The £288m blueprint was showcased at a reception sponsored by The Bishop of Liverpool, The Rt Rev James Jones.
Children’s Health Park Project Director, Richard Glenn, said:
“For the best part of a century, we have sat alongside a local park. “The opportunity to integrate the hospital with the park and deliver a comprehensive regeneration of both was the starting point for the development of a holistic green vision. “We are proposing a hospital without walls where the gardens, activity zones and parklands are literally part of an integrated environment.”
At the ceremony, the Rt Rev James Jones described the hospital as a jewel in Liverpool’s crown.
