Merseyside councils to decide budgets

ALL Merseyside’s councils have until the government deadline of March 10 to finalise their budgets and council tax.

Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council will discuss their proposed council tax charges and budget on March 3.

Knowsley Metropolitan Council, Halton Borough Council and St Helens will also bring their proposals to full council on March 3.

Sefton Borough Council will discuss budgets on February 28 and put them through scrutiny before ratifying any changes on March 4.

Liverpool has just agreed a freeze on council tax, with some of the other councils looking to keep increases between 0.1% and 0.5%.
