WIRRAL Council is to set aside £250,000 to deal with potholes created by the recent spell of bad weather.
The authority’s technical services department is currently identifying the extent of these urgent repairs.
Already a partial programme has been issued to council contractor Colas who will initially carry out a temporary repair to pot-holes.
A report to the council’s ruling cabinet said it is expected this emergency programme of repairs will help protect the authority from the potential of increased insurance claims.
More permanent repairs will be carried out during the period March, 2010, to April, 2011.
If anyone wishes to report a pothole, they should contact Streetscene on 0151 606 2004.
