FORMER Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon has teamed up with a charity for older people to raise awareness of some of the issues faced in later life.
Age Concern and Help the Aged announced that Liz, who is also a TV presenter, would be supporting its cause.
The Liverpool-born singer decided to work with the charity after witnessing some of the problems faced by older people within her family. Her 102-year-old great-grandmother lived in a care home until she was forced to move when it could not afford to remain open. She died a few months later.
Liz said: “Helping disadvantaged older people is an issue that’s very close to my heart.
“I want as many people as possible to raise vital funds for Age Concern and Help the Aged.”
