Liverpool's Go Penguins on display at St George’s Hall before charity auction

PEOPLE have been visiting St George’s Hall to catch a final glimpse of the penguins before they are sold in a charity auction.

The 67 colourful creations that paraded around the city, as part of the Go Penguins trail, have gathered together for the last time.

They will remain on display until 8pm tonight and fans are able to place sealed bids until then.

An online auction is currently being held at www.gopenguins.co.uk with lots closing every two minutes between 12pm and 2pm tomorrow. The auction will raise money for the Liverpool Lord Mayor’s appeal, which supports charities including Alder Hey’s Imagine Appeal and Liverpool Unites.

More than 200 of the birds graced the city’s streets for seven weeks as part of the Go Penguins parade.

Sally-Ann Wilkinson, Director of Wild in Art, said: “I’m going to be incredibly jealous of whoever is lucky enough to take the penguins home; it would be an absolute joy to look upon them every day.”
