A glitzy ball in aid of the Marina Dalglish Appeal raised more than £200,000, with guests including Liverpool FC star Jamie Carragher

A CHARITY ball in aid of the Marina Dalglish Appeal on Saturday raised more than £200,000 for the cancer charity.

More than 600 guests danced the night away at the annual event, held in the grounds of Knowsley Hall.

Guests at the ball – themed A Night in Marrakesh – included Liverpool FC heroes Alan Hansen, Jan Molby and Jamie Carragher, fresh from his side’s derby victory over Everton.

The cash was splashed during the charity auction, where prizes included an £18k Boodles pendant, a Philip Armstrong dress, and a gift donated by hair stylist Andrew Collinge.

Marina, wife of LFC idol Kenny Dalglish, said: “It was an absolutely fantastic night, and Kenny and I are absolutely thrilled with how much we’ve raised.”
