Daily Post
Daily Post Editor Mark Thomas on our exciting new daily package
WELCOME to the first edition of the new-look Liverpool Daily Post.
The innovative design we have implemented from today is aimed at delivering more stories, more and better background, analysis and comment, and presenting everything to you in an even more accessible way.
Business, which is such an important part of our daily coverage and one of the most valuable elements of the Daily Post for many of our readers, will be getting even greater prominence from now on.
You will find our daily business section starts today on Page 7.
The creative sector is one of the fastest-growing areas of the UK economy, and is of particular importance to our region. For that reason, LDP Creative will now appear twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.
Today’s LDP Creative, on Page 9, includes the launch of what promises to be a fascinating new column by internet entrepreneur Ben Hatton, founder and MD of Liverpool-based Rippleffect, one of the UK’s leading digital agencies.
Ben is just one of the exciting new writers who we are adding to our ranks.
Writer and broadcaster Will Batchelor will turn his witty and acerbic eye on current affairs every Wednesday.
Friday sees the launch of a terrific new column by former Daily Post Editor Jane Costello, who is now a successful popular novelist with a growing army of fans.
We are also very pleased to announce the return of Mr Brocklebank, back from his short sabbatical, to once again deliver his musings on life behind the scenes in Liverpool’s corridors of power, in a new regular Thursday slot. They join recent recruits to our team of columnists like Gary Bainbridge, David Higgerson and Richard Irvine, and great established writers like the inimitable David Charters, Anfield legend and TV football pundit Mark Lawrenson, cultural guru Phil Redmond, and influential political journalists Jim Hancock and Rob Merrick.
Our look is changing, and we have strengthened and enhanced our formidable team of writers, but some things won’t change.
