LIVERPOOL’S main hospital is asking for people’s views on its application to become a foundation Trust.
The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals Trust has begun a consultation on the topic which runs until April 29.
Foundation Trust status means hospitals have more control over their own budgets.
Local communities can also have a say in the way the Trust provides its services, through becoming members.
Chair Judith Greensmith, said: “The aim is to keep patients at the heart of everything that we do and how we do it.
“We want to involve as many people as we can in how we design and deliver services and we are really keen to hear as many people’s views as possible on our plans to become a foundation trust.”
Chief executive, Tony Bell, added: “I hope that people will take this opportunity to tell us what they think and to find out about getting more involved in what we do.
“Our double excellent Care Quality Commission rating is a key achievement and we hope more local involvement will help us to build on this and help us develop and improve our services further.”
