A MAN was arrested after holding a rooftop protest in Liverpool.
The 44-year-old man spent eight hours on top of the Crowne Plaza Hotel, near to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, in Speke.
He was brandishing a banner criticising airline Ryanair’s training programme.
Police cordoned off the area from 10.20am.
Eyewitness Ben McNeil said: “There must have been about seven different police vehicles and an ambulance.”
The protester came down shortly after 6pm.
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called after a man climbed on to a roof in protest.
“He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and wasting police time.”
A spokesman for Ryanair refuted the allegations being made in the protest.
A statement said: “We maintain very high standards of professionalism among our cabin crew.”
