RICE Lane businesses will meet again with council chiefs to demand concessions as trade is affected by roadworks set to continue for 20 weeks.
A meeting was held last Thursday between council representatives, elected councillors and traders of different stripes to try and ensure the £1.2m project does not derail organisations already battling recession.
The traders want the council to allow advertising on bollards, as well as pay for newspaper notices to ensure people know they remain open.
They are also asking for a reduction in business rates, to reflect the impact the roadworks have had on trade.
The meeting takes place tomorrow, from 6.30pm at Sainsbury’s coffee shop.
