THE Mersey Partnership believes Nowhere Boy’s success has hugely benefited Merseyside.
Acting tourism director Pam Wilsher said the film, starring Aaron Johnson, left, as a young Lennon, had sparked huge interest.
She said: “The massive jump in bookings are extremely encouraging for the visitor economy across the region. The Beatles play a vital role in attracting people to the city.”
TMP said all Beatles attractions have seen an increase in visitors on the 826,000 day trippers and 110,000 overnight visitors who come every year.
A story about Nowhere Boy attracted 140,000 users to TMP’s website in January.
