THE battlelines for the forthcoming local elections in Liverpool were drawn yesterday as the two main leaders debated their key policies.
Liberal Democrat council leader Warren Bradley and Labour opposition leader Joe Anderson sat in front of a business audience arranged by lobby group Downtown Liverpool In Business at the BT Convention Centre.
May’s election will be the closest fought in years as the ruling Liberal Democrats currently have a majority of just one, with Labour just seven seats behind.
The party has been in power since 1998 and Labour are hopeful of regaining control.
The debate will be broadcast on City Talk 105.9 FM on Sunday, at 7am and 8pm.
