DANCING On Ice star Kieron Richardson today told of the moment he sliced his lip open during rehearsals.
The Hollyoaks actor fell face-first on the ice as he practiced a tricky spin called the axel.
He was taken to hospital and needed stitches.
Last week the 24-year-old injured his head after slipping during practice.
But Kieron, who still took part in last Sunday’s show, is determined to pull off the move this weekend.
He said: “The beginning of the week went really well and I threw myself into the routine.
“The required element for this week is an unassisted jump. I have to do two half axels. I was practising my jump and I over rotated. I didn’t have a clue how to land and I fell face-first.
“I was really shaken up and I just kept my head down. I felt my mouth was numb and when I saw all the blood on the ice I thought I’d lost my teeth.
“My dance partner Brianne dragged me off the ice and took me into the medical room.
“The staff were amazing and cleaned me up but they said I needed to go to hospital for stitches.
“I have a big fear of stitches and needles so I wanted them to just glue it back together but I had to be rushed straight to hospital.”
